The Freight Sales Manager is an integral part of the sales leadership team, responsible for growing, training, and mentoring the Sims Global Solutions Sales teams. In this role, the Freight Sales Manager will lead all aspects of growing a sales organization, dedicated to expanding our Multi-Modal Logistics company including LTL, Truckload, and Warehousing customer base across all emerging product and service offerings. They will be responsible for new customer acquisition and driving continuous growth and improvement across a portfolio of customers.


This individual is passionate about delivering extraordinary service to Sims Global Solutions customers and contributing directly to top line and bottom-line growth. The ideal candidate is both highly operational and entrepreneurial, obsessed with driving customer success, motivated by building and crafting the future of transportation, and a tried leader at setting vision and driving execution to deliver results for our clients and sales team.


This Seller-Doer-Leader will work with sales and operations teams to continue improving strategy and processes. They will be responsible for executing business growth targets alongside partners across several teams within Sims Global Solutions.


This role is expected to develop best-in-class sales approach, sales metrics, sales team while providing high quality communication with our clients. This position will seek to provide best-in-class customer service with a customer-centric, no fail mentality.


Responsibilities
:

  • Lead the Sales team comprised of Internal/External/Independent Agents with 2+ yrs of sales experience, responsible for growing our LTL and TL shipper base.
  • Build strong and repeatable outbound sales process, targeting the highest value shippers in the segment, coordinate with Marketing on content, drive execution and hold the team accountable to results.
  • Develop, educate, and implement sales metrics to be reported daily/weekly/monthly/annually.
  • Responsible for top-line and bottom-line growth for the Sims Global portfolio of customers
  • Own objective setting, mentoring, training, motivation, and development of the sales team.
  • Work cross-functionally with claims, marketing, account management, customer success and sales operations teams to drive shipper acquisition and growth by setting and carrying out cohesive go-to-market strategy.
  • Partner with sales enablement to build training and coaching around sales processes, best practices, and tools such as Zoho, DAT, Green Screens, Parade, & LinkedIn
  • Develop your own book of business.
  • Work with Sales staff to hone their sales skills, including traveling with sales members to client locations on sales calls.


Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of proven experience in a sales role
  • At least 2+ years of hands-on management experience in an acquisition sales environment with experience managing full cycle Sales teams.
  • Freight/logistics experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consistent track record of success vision setting, coaching, development, and driving execution to deliver business outcomes.
  • Experiencing selling transportation management systems
  • A solution and customer focused approach with the ability to grow positive relationships.
  • Proven track record of success of solution selling Freight clients.
  • Consistent record of success building a book of business through outbound prospecting
  • Experience working closely and communicating optimally with internal and external team members including operations, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Excitement toward working and staying organized in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment.
  • Portfolio of achievements growing a business or product and consistently exceeding revenue targets and company goals
  • Hard-working and motivational leadership mentality established through leading by example for staff, peers, and senior leaders across all company functions.
  • Experience building and using Zoho and BI dashboards for reporting.
